So how does the Red Bag Appeal work? Let's step through it.

Collect your bags from a registered National Storage location or WMQ service from Saturday 22 October

Fill your bags full of Christmas essentials and goodies, or purchase a ‘virtual bag’ (donate the cost of a bag)

Check out the Shopping List for the essential items needed in every bag.

Drop your filled bags back to a registered National Storage location by Friday 25 November

Red Bags are then picked up from all National Storage locations on Monday 25th November and taken to our warehouse

Our group of amazing corporate volunteers checks all bags and repack if needed. We'll make sure every bag has an equal amount of essentials and goodies for Queenslanders in need

Red Bags are then distributed through several WMQ services throughout the Christmas period, including our Emergency Relief Hub in Fortitude Valley, bringing hope and joy to those who need it most.

Ready to get involved?

By donating $50, the Emergency Relief Hub will be able to provide a Red Bag to someone in need.

Fill a Red Bag

Fill a Red Bag with Christmas groceries and return it to one of our Red Bag locations across South East Queensland.

Create your own fundraising page and raise money to donate ‘virtual’ Red Bags and help those in need.

Find out how you can give your time to support Queenslanders in need this Christmas.

Every year the Red Bag Appeal is made possible by the incredible support from you, our community. There are so many who play their part: the truck drivers who deliver bags; the volunteers who work in our emergency services; the corporate teams who donate their time to help pack and sort red bags; the corporate sponsors who give to get the appeal off the ground. There are the churches, schools and companies who rally their members to fill red bags, ready to be delivered; there are community members, like you, who donate either physically or financially to make sure everyone feels the spirit of Christmas.

Every step in the journey, and every person who takes part, adds to the impact of the Red Bag Appeal.
