The inspiration behind the Cycle for Mental Health ...

In 2016 Dylan Rock, the business owner of Vital Cycles on the Gold Coast, put together the CHAPTER 10 ride concept in loving memory of his cherished friend Kyeema ‘Ky’, who was lost to suicide in 2015.

Ky was from Coolum, so Dylan and 7 other keen cyclists decided to ride to Coolum from the Gold Coast to present Ky’s family with a special jersey, signed by all the riders who took part in the ride. The idea came to Dylan after he heard of Ky's own ride, which she called Chapter 9, where she had wanted to ride solo to Tasmania to raise awareness for mental illness. She made it to Lennox Head from Coolum before returning home. After hearing the story, Dylan felt her ride was incomplete and wanted to do something to finish it for her, and ride her home to her loved ones. And thus, Chapter 10 was born.
