All I want for my 9th birthday is to donate to Hummingbird House
This year for her birthday, Matira has a special request—no gifts, please! Instead, she’s hoping everyone will consider supporting Hummingbird House.
So why Hummingbird House? I wondered the same thing. It all started last September when we popped into Coles. They were selling all these cute fundraising items—tokens, socks, keyrings—all for Hummingbird House.
Just so you know, Hummingbird House is the only children’s hospice in Queensland, and it's just down the road from us in Chermside. They take amazing care of kids with serious health conditions. I didn't realise at the time, but that day at Coles really struck a chord with Matira. Now, my amazing 9-year-old would rather see donations go to them instead of getting birthday presents for herself.
