About headspace Hervey Bay & Maryborough

headspace Hervey Bay & Maryborough provides free mental health support for young people aged 12 to 25. Young people across the Fraser Coast are telling us they need more support. In the 2025 Fraser Coast Youth Survey, 53% identified mental health as a major concern, 15% reported experiencing homelessness at some point. Young people also told us they want more activities, safe spaces and opportunities to connect.

While funding supports our core mental health services, donations allow headspace Hervey Bay to offer even more. Community contributions help us to create those opportunities to meet the wants and needs of our young people through events, activities and creative spaces. Every donation, no matter the size, helps us create more positive opportunities for young people in our community.

All donations over $2 are tax deductible.

why donate to headspace Hervey Bay & Maryborough?

Friday 16th Oct

Every young person deserves a safe place to turn when life feels overwhelming. At headspace Hervey Bay & Maryborough, we work every day to create supportive, welcoming spaces where young people can build connections, access support, and feel a sense of belonging.

Our core mental health services are funded through our local Primary Health Network, ensuring young people in our region can access the support they need. However, community donations allow us to go beyond clinical services and create opportunities that make a lasting difference in the lives of local young people.

Donations help us run social groups and activities that bring young people together in positive, youth-friendly environments. Contributions assist with the ongoing operational costs of running our volunteer Youth Reference Group, Gaming Group, Cosy Corner, Plus Group, and future initiatives. Funds assist us with the purchasing of art and craft supplies, food and refreshments, group resources, and engaging activities that encourage connection, confidence, and wellbeing. Through our group programs, young people develop friendships, learn new skills, feel an increased sense of belonging, and feel connected to their community. This creates positive outcomes that extend beyond the youth of Hervey Bay & Maryborough and into our wider community.

Community support also helps us deliver events and initiatives that reach young people outside of our centre walls. Previous donations have supported us to fund our annual Bright Ball, an annual event that celebrates the diversity of our LGBTQIA+ community across the Fraser Coast. This event has a long legacy of ensuring LGBTQIA+ youth feel seen, accepted and valued.

When you donate to headspace Hervey Bay & Maryborough, your contribution supports more than just a service. It helps create opportunities for young people to connect, grow, and thrive, whether they are engaged with our mental health services or simply looking for a welcoming place to belong.

As we continue exploring new ways to support youth in our region, community generosity remains an important part of what makes these opportunities possible.

We are incredibly grateful to every individual, business, and organisation that chooses to support headspace Hervey Bay & Maryborough. Together, we can continue creating positive, creative, and youth-friendly spaces that help young people feel connected, supported, and hopeful about their future.

Your donation, no matter the size, helps make a difference. By investing in local young people today, you're helping build a stronger, more connected community for tomorrow.

headspace creativity leads to rock solid support

Thursday 20th Aug

The headspace Hervey Bay & Maryborough Work & Study team recently found an innovative way to connect with young people and initiate important conversations about mental health support.

The team painted rocks featuring positive images and encouraging messages that were offered to attendees at a local event on the Fraser Coast. The idea was to create a simple, engaging way for young people to access support when they needed it.
