I'm fundraising for Wesley Mission Queensland
💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜Long time local, Mel Dixon, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Mel contacted me a couple of weeks ago, after her partner Matt, saw a post I had shared about an annual fundraiser for Hummingbird House.
Hummingbird House is a beautiful home (the only children’s hospice in Qld) where terminally ill kids can spend their last days with family & friends in a caring and loving environment.
Mel has to start chemo this Wednesday and has decided to cut her hair off (in advance) to try and raise money for this amazing organisation. As you can see, Mel certainly has very, very, very long hair.
We are hosting an afternoon where the entire community is welcome at the Airlie Beach Bowls Club on Sunday 3rd November with entertainment from 2-6pm. Where Mel will have her hair cut. Mel & Matt would like this to be a happy day, hence the band. We have also been blessed by some wonderful businesses who have donated prizes, so we will be having a mega raffle during the afternoon.
