Qspace and Qplus Fundraiser 2022

I'm fundraising for Wesley Mission Queensland

Qspace www.qspace.net.au is a peer suicide prevention service for LGBTIQAP+ young people aged 12-25 on the Gold Coast. A few years ago we lost 75% of our funding and are now operating with a very small staff team across only a few days a week relying heavily on a fantastic team of peer volunteers to assist us at groups. We have group programs with psychosocial workshops, case by case individual support, take enquiries from all over the GC to point people in the right direction with information and provide resources to young people including gender affirming resources like binders, makeup, clothes and safety information. All this is done on a very small budget and for additional resources we rely on donations and community support. We receive wonderful feedback from the community we support about improvements to mental health and protective factors and with YOUR help, together we can make an even bigger impact!

We are looking to raise funds for a variety of support for our clients, as we no longer provide transport we need go cards so young people can get to and from appointments and our groups, food vouchers for couch surfing or chosen family households struggling financially, craft resources for our groups, gender affirming resources like binders, bra extenders, mental health books, fidgets for individual support and more. We need prizes for our art competitions, rainbow resources for when we attend school mental health and wellbeing expos and funds to pay any external presenters to come in to deliver workshops. 

Our enquiries, referrals and support requested are increasing but there is no increase to funds for our service. Therefore I would like to raise funds for the amazing community I work with.
