Remembering Shari
In 2019, my beautiful sister Shari Anne Rose, 16, passed away due to complications from her battle with Burkitt’s Lymphoma. She was surrounded by her family at Queensland Children’s hospital, South Brisbane at the time of her passing, but it caught us all by surprise and we were unable to say our goodbyes because of her condition.
We were fortunate enough to have the services of Hummingbird House offered to us, which allowed us to spend some time with Shari after her passing, saying our goodbyes, surrounded by our extended family.
As Shari’s brother, I cannot thank Hummingbird House enough for the service and empathy they offered us over these tough days spent in their facility! It was a beautiful place to say our goodbyes, and we are forever grateful that we were offered this opportunity.
I am looking forward to supporting Hummingbird House into the future to allow them to keep providing this beautiful service so families are able to spend quality time with their loved ones!
