Approximately 55%–70% of residents in residential aged care are living with dementia or cognitive impairment. The way people living with dementia experience the world can change as the disease progresses. Their sense of reality or place in time can become distorted, which can cause agitation and distress. One of the best ways to support people experiencing changes in perception and behaviour is to manage their environment.
Many experience, social isolation, behavioural and psychological symptoms, reduced participation in activities and declining mobility and mood. Traditional lifestyle programs can struggle to consistently engage residents with moderate to severe dementia.
Opportunities to improve the quality of life of those most vulnerable elderly residents living with dementia include: Sensory Wizard Interactive Technology and Therapeutic Robot/Doll Therapy.
Please support our fundraising efforts to help raise as much as we can to fund this essential program. Benefits to clients are: Clinical, Cognitive, Emotional, Social, Functional, Quality of Life & Environmental.
All donations over $2 are tax deductible. Thank you so much!
